We offer FREE trial classes for Dance, Music and Adult Fitness, so come down and try something you’ve always wanted to do!

Q: How many classes will my child need to take?

A: The number of classes taken will depend on the type of program they are in. Dancers in the recreational stream can take one to several classes a week. Dancers in our Crew division must be taking the required amount of Ballet, Crew Jazz, Crew Technique and Crew Choreography classes for their Team level. They are also encouraged to take as many other different forms of dance to strengthen their technique, and expand their repertoire.  The girls at our front desk would be glad to discuss your child’s dancing goals and work with you to set up a game plan and class schedule to achieve them.

Q: What is Crew?

A: Crew is by audition only, and is a division of Front & Centre that is for the dancers that want more commitment and performance opportunities in our community throughout the year.  These dancers will get to work with top guest choreographers learning new and exciting styles of dance in a fun, friendly and positive environment. Crew students also receive extended dance education such as crew trips, conventions and specialized dance related course. Crew is not a competitive team. It is a place where dancers can train with other dancers who are as passionate and focused about dance as they are. . . and who love to perform in amazing venues!

A: The class levels, grades and requirements are listed on our Dance Class Schedule and Registration page.  If you are still unsure, call us!  Our instructors and studio owner would be glad to assist with the assessment and class placement of your child to ensure they are in a class that challenges them adequately but is not beyond their reach. Q: What type of dance floor is used?

A: Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping that can potentially put a lot of stress on bones and joints. Most dance footwear does not provide enough cushioning or support, so the shock of dance movement can place a lot of pressure on the knees and back of a dancer. At Front & Centre we want to make sure that our dancers are being supported with the best hardware available for their continued growth and practice. Known worldwide as the best quality dance floor the “marley” floor is used at the finest schools in the city including Ryerson University’s top tier dance program. This special flooring helps reduce the risk of injuries and allows students to dance longer without getting tired.
