At the beginning of every class there is a warm-up. Following the warm-up, dancers work on corner and centre progressions.
The final part of the class focuses on learning combinations and stylized routines which are geared towards the level and ability of the class.

Tickle Trunks  

This is a ballet class for 3-4 year olds. Songs, costumes, and props will be incorporated into some classes to evoke creativity. These dancers perform in their own 20 minute recital at the studio at the end of May.

Stars & Starlettes  

This class is a natural progression from the tickle trunk class. The fundamentals of jazz and ballet are introduced in a fun creative way. The dancers work on increasing flexibility, as well as improving coordination and rhythm. Children in junior kindergarten: 5 years of age.

Lyrical  

Lyrical dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz technique. It places emphasis on dance moves that relate directly to the song or music. These dance moves show expressive feeling and/or emotion. Lyrical dance shows the audience the emotion of the particular piece.
 Inter Lyrical: 9-13 years of age to 11-13 years of age
Advanced Lyrical: By referral only to 14 years and up

Ballet  

This form of dance improves posture, poise, grace, and technique. Ballet is the backbone for all other dance forms. The technique developed in ballet is the fundamental training that applies to all other dance forms.

Hip Hop  

This form of dance focuses on style and coordination. The styles of the movements are bouncy, fast, and funky. Hip Hop stems from street dancing and is similar to what you might see in music videos. It is a high energy, fun class that moves to the trendy music of today.

Jazz  

This form of dance is characterized by its energy and variety. Movements can smooth or sharp, fast or slow, big or small. Dancers practice many turns and jumps from the corner, and later perform combinations and routines to upbeat music. Jazz dancers can be found dancing in musicals, on stage, at concerts, on cruise ships, at theme parks, and in many music videos. Jazz dance is energetic, vibrant, and continues to be an integral part of the entertainment industry.

Jr. Jazz  
This is a high energy, and fun class that combines both Jazz and Hip Hop. The dancers work on their jazz technique, and receive an introduction to hip hop dance.
Acro  

Acro is the combination of gymnastics and jazz movement. This program is designed for dancers who want to increase their flexibility, control, and strength. Dancers will be shown how to execute tricks properly and safely.  
Pre Acro: 5-6 years of age
Beg Acro: 7-9 years of age
Acro 1: 9-11 years of age
Acro ½: 10-12 years of age
Acro 2: By referal only

Musical Theatre  

This is a class that helps strengthen your voice, and improve breath control and projection. This class is a combination of singing and jazz dancing. Students learn musicianship, and musical theatre song interpretation.  
Junior Musical Theatre: 7-9 years
Inter Musical Theatre 10-13 years of age

Tap  

This is a form of dance that focuses on co-ordination, timing, and syncopated rhythm. This form of dance will help keep you on your toes! 
Mini Tap: 5-6years
Junior Tap 7-9 years
Senior Tap 10-13 years

Superheroes  
This is a dance class for boys ages 3-5years. Focuses on rhythm, co-ordination, and fun, hip moves. These dancers perform in their own 20 minute recital at the studio at the end of May.
Crew  

The crews at Front and Centre Dance Academy are by audition only. There are three crews- a Junior crew, an Intermediate crew, and a Senior crew. These are performance groups that work with different choreographers, and perform through-out the year as well as the year end recital. Crew dancers must be taking at least 1 ballet and 1 jazz class a week. The auditions for crew take place in May for the next season. This is for serious dancers who are willing to commit to a team, and want to perform throughout the year.
